Why I bagged it: The Pour House sells itself as a wine lounge/beer bar. S is a self proclaimed wine "expert" and I prefer wine to any other alcohol (less regrets the following morning). $10 is fairly low commitment and I liked the dark, smoky ambiance in the yelp photos and the reviews.
Why I loved it: The Pour House delivers. When we got there at around 7.30pm on a Saturday night, the place was already somewhat busy. I fell in love with the dark, industrial ambiance. The rustic light fixtures made of wine barrels and red colored lighting reiterated the fact that we were in a wine bar. We ordered the red flight (tasting of 4 reds) and the white flight(tasting of 4 whites, $12 each. Service is great, with very generous pours. The Pour House serves no hot food, only mixed nuts and a cheese/crackers platter but they let you order from 7-8 places in the neighborhood. They have a stack of menus you can pick up and order from. We ordered a great eggplant dip and some kebabs from a moroccan place. Our food went perfectly with the wine. Overall, we loved our time there and we were surprised that they needed to go on LivingSocial to get in more foot traffic.

Consumed: 4 tastings of vino each: The red flight, the white flight and a portion of the bar nuts mix and some tasty takeout from Aicha Moroccan Restaurant: we shared the eggplant dip & the kebab medley (came with rice and salad).
My pick: Veuve du Vernay Brut. Has a lingering taste of rose water.
Verdict: Total dealight
