Download 50% complete

If you didn’t already know this, you know it now – I’m pregnant and I’m loving it. One week after valentine’s day this year, S and I found out we’re having a baby this coming October. We have been on a wild ride ever since.

Feel-good Friday flick

I heart Friday. It is certainly the most celebrated day of the week at our household. The worries of the coming week are 2 full days away and the past week is, well, the past. This week has been a downer, with my car acting out and refusing to start in the morning when I'm ready to go to work and us having to cancel our plans to vacation in Mexico during the long weekend due to S's short notice travel to India. Sometimes the best laid plans bite the dust.

Breakroom BFF

Human beings are complicated. It's hard to say what makes a real connection between two people. And I mean more than following someone on twitter or being on their friends' list on facebook or following the same blogs they do. I mean something that makes people "click". I thought it was mostly the "birds of a feather flock together" theory, but it's not. There is no scientific or mathematical formula for it, otherwise dating sites like Match.com would be out of business.

'Breaking-up' with old-school V-day.

You know Valentine's day is around the corner when a trip to the grocery store feels like you're walking into a 1800-flowers warehouse. Or watching the Gisele Bundchens and Adriana Limas strutting their stuff on multi-million dollar Superbowl commercials, reminding the male dominant fanbase that it's Valentine's day in a couple of weeks. Or getting thrice your regular quota of email solicitations for Couples Swedish massages and chocolate-covered strawberries from Groupon.

Bub-ffiti

We all have days when we wish we had a shrink to turn to. If it wasn't for the recurring cost of paying someone the big bucks to listen to you blabber for an hour, we would all do it once in a while. Or three times a week, depending on the week. :)

The war of the tomatoes

If you watched the 1989 Michael Douglas-Kathleen Turner classic, The War of the Roses (an absolute must-watch if youre into dark comedy or domestic violence :)),you would agree that some battles can get nastier than they ought to.

Date night, dealt right

The general idea of a 'date night' is an opportunity for a married couple, especially one with kids, to go out on a date. Picture Tina Fey and Steve Carell in the movie, a suburban couple slogging through their daily lives and marriage. To escape the rut and to reignite the spark in their marriage, they visit a fancy Manhattan bistro, where a case of mistaken identity hurtles them through the city at breakneck speeds, into non-stop adventure.
Date night has a slightly different meaning for me. In our household, it is going out to a place that requires making a reservation and S wearing full length pants.
